Grassroots Activism
People Have the Power! Grassroots movements are the engines of social change. Women’s suffrage, abolition, environmental justice, worker’s rights, civil rights, LGBTQ rights – every significant cultural change altering the course of American society started with grassroots.
We use our creative voice to champion the causes and movements shaping a just and equitable society. Socially conscious design is activism.
Ready For Hillary PAC a grassroots effort to draft Hillary Clinton for the Presidential election. jwDesignCo created the visual identity, logo and omni-channel marketing strategy to include social media. We collaborated with women-owned and operated KKPromos to design, source, and produce original USA and Union made merchandise. RFH raised over $4 million in a single year, $1.25 million in the first 6 months. 98% of donations were $100 or less.
VoteVoteVote. We collaborated with Michael Wertz, Chair of Illustration at California College for the Arts (CCA), on a get-out-the-vote campaign for the 2020 election. Posters, postcards and stamps were sold nationwide and images were displayed on the historic Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.
The campaign raised $26,000. 100% of proceeds were donated to the ACLU Women’s Rights Project, in honor of its founder, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
HumanKindCo. We co-created and designed a campaign to raise awareness for Hillary Clinton’s Presidential Campaign. We collaborated with designers and illustrators Michael Wertz and Molly Schiot to produce tees, posters and other collateral that reached a younger more hip market of Hillary supporters. Proceeds funded Planned Parenthood.
