Founder & Principal of jwDesignCo, Julie Wertz leads studio strategy and creative direction. A dedicated mentor and lifelong learner, Julie is endlessly curious about the possibilities for joyful expression and connection.

With an accomplished career at the nexus between fashion and lifestyle while advancing the causes of progressive social movements, Julie’s passion is working with purpose-driven brands living their promise. She began her career at Esprit de Corps, the iconic San Francisco-founded fashion brand. As the U.S. Design Studio Manager, Julie was part of a world-class team of fashion, graphic, textile designers and illustrators working across seven divisions to produce five seasonal collections annually.

Julie studied Graphic Design at California College of the Arts and is a tireless advocate and supporter of arts education. For more than two decades, she has been involved as a volunteer for The San Francisco Arts Education Project, a 50+ year old organization bringing visual and performing arts to public school children. She is proud to serve as the organization’s board chair.
